Homeopathy as a system of medicine had its origin in Germany; over a period of time, this system of medicine has found its centre place in India. Homoeopathy has become the most well accepted in our country, as its Philosophical base is much closer to that of Eastern Philosophy.
Dr. L. D. Dhawale and his son, Dr. M. L. Dhawale, were among the few who studied modern medicine; they later studied Homoeopathy in great detail and used it to benefit patients. They further made efforts to formalise the Homoeopathic system of medicine along with several other like-minded Homoeopaths of the time. Dr. M. L. Dhawale also trained several young Homoeopaths to become skilled practitioners. This marked the beginning of Post Graduate courses in Homoeopathy. He opened his clinic to seekers so that they could be trained to use their knowledge practically. The light of knowledge was now passed to the Shishyas who wished to learn from the Guru.
The ICR has always operated on the Guru Shishya Parampara. To further encourage this process, the Trust was founded by Dr. M. L. Dhawale’s family. With the further efforts of Dr. Kumar Dhawale, Dr. Anand Kapse, Dr. Shirish Phansalkar, Mrs. Rohini Belsare, Dr. Bipin Jain, Dr. Manoj Patel, Dr. Sunil Bhalinge, Dr. Anoop Nigwekar, Dr. Chandrashekhar Goda, Dr. Hitesh Purohit, Dr. Mihir Parikh, Dr. Hema Parikh, Dr. Latha Devarajan, and many more, the trust has furthered this process of learning in many parts of India.
The HPGA was the first informal post graduate Homoeopathic course wherein students went through intense training in Homoeopathy and emerged as confident practitioners. This course continued for several decades. Later, the need was felt to make the course more structured and operate the course centrally with students attending regional clinics and common hybrid sessions (online+ offline) to help integrate the learning better. This led to the course being restructured and renamed to the HPGT- Hybrid Post Graduate Training. The new course was launched in May 2024 by the Dr. MLD Trust Malad under the guidance of Dr. Sunil Bhalinge.
Clinical exposure is the heart of our course; the cases that students experience in the clinic are brought to the classroom for discussion. This discussion enables the students to understand the processes better and in turn become a better prescriber and clinician. Through these sessions, not just the student but even the trainer evolve in their own journey.
After completing the course according to the requirements (including regular attendance & assignment submission), the student will be given a completion certificate and they will be eligible to appear for the SCR test.
